Maynard James Keenan's Tool were born in 1990 in Los Angeles, California. They mix alternative and progressive metal with collateral genres, managing to emerge in the years of the explosion of grunge. The first official album - 1993's Undertow - is distributed by the label Zoo Records and features ten tracks in total, including a ghost track and the individual Prison Sex and Sober. The second album arrives three years later: it is called Ænima, it contains a dedication to the American comedian Bill Hicks - prematurely died in 1994 - and it is realized by David Bottrill, former producer of the King Crimson. In 2019 they released their latest studio album Fear Inoculum.
