The Weeknd, alias of Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, is the artist who has been able to reinvent the rules of contemporary R&B alternative, selling over one hundred million records in just a few years. Canadian, born in Toronto in 1990, he made his debut on the record market at a very young age thanks to a mixtape produced together with Illangelo with Doc McKinney and nominated for the 2011 Polaris Music Prize.
