The German hardrock band has chosen the stage of the Arena di Verona for what will be the only Italian date of the Scorpions of 2022: the group led by Klaus Meine and Rudolf Schenker will be on stage on May 23 in the historic Roman amphitheater to celebrate the 50 years of band history. The Scorpions were born in Hannover in 1965, by the guitarist Rudolph Schenker, and are considered one of the most important groups in the heavy rock scene of all time. The band has among its influences groups such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Blue Oyster Cult, and has inspired groups that subsequently had a large following, such as Iron Maiden and Motley Crue. The group's first album was released in 1972, titled Lonesome Crow, featuring frontman / vocalist Klaus Meine, and is still heavily influenced by psychedelic sounds of the period. Subsequently their heavy rock sound is better delineated with the entry in the group of guitarist Ulrich Roth and albums such as In trance, 1975, produced by Dieter Derks, Virgin Killer, Taken by force and Lovedrive, (1979) one of the best-selling albums of the line-up.
