The Italian Open is the most important international event organized by the Italian Golf Federation. It has been played since 1925 and has been part of the European golf circuit of the DP World Tour since 1972. The 80th edition was held in Rome from 4th to 7th September at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club (Guidonia Montecelio, Rome). The 81st edition will take place at the Adriatic Golf Club from 27th to 30th June 2024. The Italian Open, the flagship event of the 2024 Ryder Cup Project, is played under the rules of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, the DP World Tour and local rules issued by the competition committee. COMPETITION FORMULA: 156 players participate in the tournament and it is played over a distance of 72 holes, 18 a day. After the first two laps, the cut leaves the first 65 classified in the race and any tied points in 65th place. The overall prize pool is $3,250,000.00.
