Ludovico Einaudi was born in Turin on 23 November 1955, graduated in composition at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan, and perfected his skills under the guidance of Luciano Berio. Towards the end of the 1980s he went through a period of experimentation and research, during which he began to collaborate with theater and dance. In 1990 he published STANZE, 16 compositions interpreted by the electric harp of Cecilia Chailly. The album is also published in England: it is said that when the BBC broadcasts some songs, the secretariat of the British broadcaster goes haywire to respond to listeners who want to know who the author is.
