Born on the ruins of an ancient building dating back to the twelfth century, the Rocchetta Mattei looks like a labyrinthine intertwining of towers, rooms and stairs, an elegant structure modified several times in which different styles and materials blend. We will go to the discovery of its wonderful rooms and park, as well as the eclectic figure of Count Cesare Mattei, its founder, with a visit to the interior and exterior of the castle accompanied by a guide.

The Church of Santa Maria Assunta di Riola di Vergato is a pearl of modern sacred architecture, designed by one of the greatest architects of the 20th century: the Finnish Alvar Aalto. Perfectly integrated into the landscape and very impressive, this church is definitely worth a visit.

–  Arrival at the Rocchetta, entrance and guided tour lasting one hour; later arrival at the Church of Riola, entrance and guided tour lasting one hour (or vice versa)

6.15 pm: Departure from Riola towards Bologna
