The Lumineers are a folk-rock trio from Denver, Colorado; the band began in 2002 when Jeremiah Fraites lost his brother Josh, aged just 19, to an overdose. To cope with their grief, Fraites and his best friend Wesley Schultz began writing songs and performing as a duo in New York. After returning to Denver, they met multi-instrumentalist Neyla Pekarek. The group released a demo EP in 2009, followed by another EP in 2011. Their first album was released in 2012 and bears the band's name [continue on Rockol]
