In 1993 (the band formed in 1989), Radiohead from Oxford, England, made a name for themselves with “Creep”. Buried in an album that was good overall but not entirely consistent, the song ended up confusing a lot of people. Two years later, THE BENDS (1995) was released, and Radiohead were immediately labelled the “new U2”. The album was more mature, but still misled many people. The turning point came in 1997 with the release of OK COMPUTER, a masterpiece of visionary, psychedelic rock, featuring tracks such as “Karma Police” and “Exit Music”, preceded by a suicidal single, “Paranoid Android”: seven minutes, three songs in one, with an alienated video clip totally disconnected from the music.
