Armando Christian Pérez, better known as Pitbull, was born in 1981 in Miami, Florida, to Cuban parents. Growing up influenced by the Southern hip-hop scene and the cultural melting pot of "Magic City," he began writing rhymes as a teenager. His stage name is no coincidence: the artist stated he chose it because pit bulls are "too stupid to lose" and fight to the end, a philosophy he has applied throughout his entire career. His official debut came in 2002 on Lil Jon’s album Kings of Crunk, but it was in 2004 that he released his first solo album, M.I.A.M.I..
