The Locarno Film Festival is one of the world's most prestigious events dedicated to cinema: an international meeting point for those who love auteur films, discovery and experimentation.

Since 1946, every August the city of Locarno has been transformed into a home for directors, actors, critics and fans from all over the world: a stage made iconic by the screenings on the Piazza Grande - Europe's most impressive ‘open-air cinema’ - and the Pardo d'Oro, Locarno's main prize.

For the 78th edition of the Festival, more than 300 screenings, events, meetings and stars and artists from around the world, including Jackie Chan, Emma Thompson and Lucy Liu, await you in Locarno - on the Swiss shore of Lake Maggiore - from 6 to 16 August 2025.
