The three Followill brothers (Caleb, vocals; Michael, guitars; Nathan, drums) and their cousin Matthew Followill (guitars) formed Kings of Leon in 2000 together with their cousin Jared (bass), after receiving a very particular religious upbringing: the brothers' father (as well as their cousin's grandfather) is called Leon and, in addition to inspiring the band's name, is a Pentecostal pastor who raised them practically on the road, weaning them in a car travelling around the southern United States.
