Gorillaz return to Italy with their tour promoting ‘The Mountain’: on Saturday 27 June, Damon Albarn's band will take to the exclusive stage at Parco Bussoladomani in Lido di Camaiore for the second date of the La Prima Estate 2026 festival, while on 25 July they will be at Piazza Unità d'Italia in Trieste, where they will perform not only the hits from their latest studio album but also all their classic hits for what will be one of the Italian dates of the tour. The Gorillaz project was born in '98 from the meeting of Damon Albarn, leader of Blur, and artist Jamie Hewlett, author of the comic Tank Girl. This is the first virtual group in the history of music, made up of four dark-looking cartoon characters, who tell their adventures to the sound of hip hop, mixed with rock, funk, electronic, dub and reggae sounds. The great success came in 2001 with the first official album containing the very successful single "Clint Eastwood".
