This year too, unfortunately, tourism has been affected by the restrictions linked to the pandemic.
What affected it the most, it was probably the uncertainty linked to the variability of the policies introduced by the States, to which very often is added a certain mutability!
And yet, despite all the difficulties, there are destinations around the world that have done very well, both in terms of tourist attendance, and in terms of positive feedback collected.
These destinations are just what we want to talk to you about in this article; today we introduce you to the destinations that this year have come out on top, wishing you to be able to visit them all sooner or later!

We based on their popularity and the number of positive reviews received by tripadvisor users during 2021!

CORSICA, FRANCIA
The French island occupies second place in the ranking of the emerging destinations of 2021.
The charm of this destination lies in its tropical atmosphere, which combines the typically European taste, making it the perfect place for an unforgettable romantic honeymoon!
Those who have visited recommend to cross it by train to discover the natural beauty of the landscape.
DOHA, QATAR
The third destination is Doha, the capital of Qatar, as well as the city with the highest number of inhabitants in the state!
About 2 million people live in this city, belonging to the most diverse ethnic groups. That’s why Doha is a cosmopolitan and multicultural metropolis. What makes it unique is the fascinating combination of modern beauty and ancient traditions.
The imposing and sparkling skyline that welcomes you on arrival does not leave eloquently expresses the wealth of Qatar, confirmed by the majestic artificial island The Pearl Qatar, absolutely to visit!
SANYA, CINA
Sanya is the fourth emerging destination in 2021. This place begins to establish itself in the world as the Hawaii of China, because of its long coastline, tropical climate and numerous luxury resorts. To embellish the holiday, however, are the characteristic beautiful landscapes, Buddhist temples, coconut plantations and the welcoming and convivial atmosphere of the city.
GATLINBURG, TENNESSEE
Gatlinburg is a paradise for hikers!
Located in the middle of the Great Smoky Mountains, the most visited national park in the United States, it is the starting point of hundreds of hiking trails.
The activities to do here are really many and all united by the beauty of nature that is the master: fishing, horse riding, rafting, etc...
The amusement park and the beautiful aquarium also make it a perfect destination for families with children!
QUEENSTOWN, NUOVA ZELANDA
Sixth on the list is a city in New Zealand: Queenstown, famous all over the world for the Hobbits. Did you know? In fact, this is where most of the scenes from "The Lord of the Rings" were shot. Other than that, however, Queenstown offers tourists plenty of opportunities to spend a dream holiday: kayaking, bungee jumping, jetboarding, ccc... Are you ready* for a journey back in time?! Tulum was one of the last fortified cities built by the Maya. At the center of the archaeological complex stands a majestic tower from whose top you can admire the wonderful surrounding landscape. The city is well preserved and visit it is really impressive. Those who have been advised to visit El Castillo, the Temple of frescoes, the Temple of the descending god, but also the underground river of Labnaha Eco Park. If you love snorkeling, finally, you can not not immerse yourself in the clear waters of the cave Cenote Dos Ojos!
NATAL, BRASILE
Natal is considered one of the most beautiful and safe cities in Brazil. It is not by chance, to date, it is among the most visited ever. The heart of tourism develops along the Via Costeira, where most of the accommodation facilities are located. Its fame is surely linked to the beauty of the beaches, among which it is impossible not to mention Ponta Negra, Pipa and Genipabu. KAS, TURCHIA
The ninth emerging destination is located in Turkey and is famous for its crystal clear waters, which are well suited for beautiful underwater excursions!
We are talking about Kas, a beautiful city by the sea, rich in history and culture: from the ancient ruins, to restaurants with sea view, to flowered balconies in Ottoman style!
GUADELOUPE
Guadeloupe is tenth in the ranking of the emerging destinations of 2021. In this case we are talking about an overseas region, belonging to an archipelago of the French Antilles.
What makes it one of the most popular destinations for tourists is undoubtedly the beauty of its Caribbean waters and seabed, where you can make unforgettable dives. It is therefore a respectable alternative to the most famous islands in the Caribbean!
ST. THOMAS, ISOLE VERGINI AMERICANE
St. Thomas doesn’t stray very far from the rest of the American Virgin Islands. Even here, in fact, you can enjoy the beauty of the sea in all its forms: lying* for now under the sun, taking a swim or dedicating yourself to the thousand and more water sports that are offered every day!
One of the most appreciated aspects of the island is the wide presence of shops of all types, where you can give free rein to your shopping desire!
CAIRO, EGITTO
The 12th destination of this ranking does not need many presentations! We are talking about Cairo, one of the largest and most populated cities in the Middle East! It is an unmissable destination for anyone who wants to deepen the Egyptian culture and history.
COLOMBO, SRI LANKA
In thirteenth place in the ranking of emerging destinations we find Colombo, one of the most beautiful cities in Sri Lanka, as well as gateway for most travelers. Among the most beautiful places, we find Mount Lavinia and Talangama Wetland.
GOREME, TURCHIA
The fourteenth position is again of a Turkish city; this time we speak of Goreme, whose particularity is the fact of being entirely carved into the volcanic rock. From here you can access the Goreme National Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and admire its famous rocky pinnacles and the beautiful rock churches of the 10th and 11th centuries.
CHENGDU, CINA
After Sanya, China returns to talk about itself with another pearl: Chengdu!
If you decide to go, you can’t miss the beauty of Huanglong National Park. If you feel particularly inspired* and don’t lack the courage, you can go on foot to Lhasa and experience the thrill of rafting on the rapids or embark on an adventure of several days: navigating the rivers.
The other unmissable experience is the visit of the five lakes of the temple: to reach them you have to follow a path of 8 kilometers, but it is absolutely worth it!
AMMAN, GIORDANIA
The sixteenth position belongs to a pearl of Jordan, the city of Amman, famous for its history, the result of the passage of many civilizations, recognizable both in the architectural particularity and in the heterogeneity of its population. The mix of antiquity and modernity that you can admire in this city is nothing short of formidable: here shops, colorful souks and museums are interspersed with Roman ruins and ancient monuments!
MATERA, ITALIA
To talk about Italy this year Matera, who has earned a place in the ranking of the destinations that have conquered the limelight!
Its international celebrity is linked to the famous "Sassi", caves carved into the rock thousands of years ago. In all probability the stones of Matera represent one of the first human settlements in Italy. By the way, did you know that some are still inhabited?

SHENZEN, CINA
2021 is the year of China! The 18th emerging destination is once again Chinese: Shenzen! In this city there are some of the most modern buildings in the world. Crossing it you almost have the feeling of having made a journey into the future! Indeed, Shenzen is one of the most important industrial centres in the world. Yet, there is no shortage of tourist attractions and cultural offerings: from the Chinese folklore village, to the Safari park and beach resorts, to the unique theme park Shìjiè zhī Chuāng, where you can admire, among other things, the reproductions of the Eifell tower, of the Taj Mahal and the pyramids!
UDAIPUR, INDIA
Did you know there’s an "Venice of the East"?
That’s right, it’s called Udaipur and it’s in India. Why is it called that?
Because of the beautiful shimmering lakes that are the backdrop to its hills. Whoever visited them was enchanted. In addition to beauty, Udaipur is a place of science and culture: the hills of Aravail, Jag Niws and Jag Mandir, for example, host the solar observatory and gardens of Nehru. The pride of the city is the Taj Lake Palace and the City Palace, known all over the world for their glitzy charm!
CAMPOS DE JORDAO, BRASILE
In 20th place we find a Brazilian city, Campos de Jordao, a perfect example of tropical mountain: high-altitude pine forests, rich vegetation and emerald green peaks that are the background of the city. Campos De Jordao is the perfect place for those who want to escape from the bustle of the city, taking refuge in the tranquility and peace of nature.
ABU DHABI, EMIRATI ARABI UNITI
The United Arab Emirates also return to speak of them, with a famous destination now in every part of the world: Abu Dhabi.
Just like Doha, Abu Dhabi immediately conveys wealth and modernity. However, the travelers who have visited it, have emphasized the fact that moving from the most commercial roads to the most peripheral ones the feeling changes radically! In the back streets, in fact, you can get in touch with all the tradition of the place, appreciating its over 5000 years of history!
Among the places to visit we can not help but mention the park The Corniche, the White Fort and the traditional village.
YORK, REGNO UNITO
Let’s go back to Europe, with a destination that has so much history to tell!
We are referring to York, an English city that houses the testimonies of the passage of the Romans and the Vikings: ancient walls, baths, workshops for the processing of leather, glass, wood and ceramics, but also artifacts and streets!
Among the unmissable attractions for those visiting the city there is definitely the Castle Museum of York, inside which you can retrace faithfully the last 4 centuries of history, but also the area of Shambles, the Yorkshire Museum and the Tower of Clifford!
NUOVA DELHI, INDIA
New Delhi is famous for being a calm and chaotic city at the same time! Visiting it you can not help but notice the abundant flows of people and animals, which are constantly moving from one side to the other! Do not be surprised if you happen to meet cows along the streets, rather try to treat them with the utmost respect, because here are sacred animals and a misstep in this regard could at least ruin your holiday!
Among the places to visit are the Chandni Chowk market, the Jantar Mantar complex, where you can admire astronomical instruments and sundials still in use. Finally, one of the main attraction for tourists is the India Gate, the monument dedicated to the fallen of the First World War and the Third Afghan War.
HURGHADA, EGITTO
Hurghada has earned a place in the ranking thanks to its turquoise sea and beautiful coral reefs. These features have made it increasingly famous and appreciated by fans of windsurfing and snorkeling, which in the last ten years have poured in increasing numbers in this paradise on earth, whose seabed are all to explore!
SAINT AUGUSTINE, FLORIDA
Last in the standings, certainly not for beauty is Saint Augustine, in Florida, so dear to us Europeans because it was our first settlement in the continental United States.
Here there are many things to do: the old town is very characteristic and offers many points of interest. Tourists love to stroll through the city’s pebbles, admire its monuments, relax in the typical places and visit museums.
Among the most important attractions is the Castillo de San Marco, the Old St. Augustine Village, the Spanish Quarter Living History Museum, the beautiful beach of St. Augustine and the famous Fountain of Youth of Ponce de Leon, unique in the world!
