Rovereto, an ancient crossroads between the Germanic world and the republic of Venice, resumes this encounter between different ethnicities in its Christmas market. Here, in fact, is organized the "Christmas of Peoples" which hosts artisans and artists from all over the world. Special guest of this year's edition will be Greece. Hand-made cribs with wood of migrant boats or olive trees in Bethlehem, or made of poor materials.
Trento "Christmas Town" boasts one of the most famous Italian markets. In fact, the Christmas celebrations unfold throughout the city, from the famous Christmas Market at Piazza Fiera and Piazza Cesare Battisti, to the light games in Piazza Duomo, the Santa Claus Village and the skating rink in Piazza Dante; and yet the Via del Gusto in Via SS. Trinity, concerts and initiatives in Piazza S. Maria Maggiore and the Christmas train that will take you to the discovery of the historic center. The entire Trentine city is transformed, it is colored and is animated by the magic of Christmas.
On the first morning, take the bus from Valtellina to Rovereto. Upon arrival I meet with the guide and visit the town. The city of peace and cradle of the Enlightenment in Trentino, Rovereto preserves all the charm of its six hundred years of history: the historic center of art and the First World War, the MART, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the Museum of War in the Castle of Rovereto and the Bell of the Fallen, a symbol of peace. At the end of the free time guided tour for lunch and for a visit to the Christmas markets. At 15.00 transfer to Trento. Visit the Christmas markets. At 18.00 departure for return to Valtellina where arrival is scheduled for late evening.
